What’s next for the Sanchez family? Do you think they’ll be able to follow Isla and Elena’s example and move toward greater openness?

I think the Sanchez family will slowly become more open to things they’ve not accepted before (class mixing, same sex relationships, etc). It’ll definitely take longer for the older folks, but the younger family members will welcome it. Elena and Isla can be the story to motivate them.

Yes, if the Sanchez family is going to carry on in a purposeful way, they will need to adapt. Darwin's idea of survival of the fittest never referred to superior strength or power. That concept has too often been used to justify aggressive competition and subjugating others. Survival of the fittest is really about adapting to an ever-changing environment. And in a civilization, it's about flexibility and cooperation.
