What does the science of animal intelligence mean for how we understand and live with the wild creatures around us?

Who are the wild animals who’ve meant the most to you (or who captured your heart or imagination, or got on your nerves….)? Are there wild animals you often see in your everyday life?

We don't treat our lawn, so we have a beautiful array of native plants and animals that traverse our little half acre with reckless abandon. On any given morning we can look out our window to see white-tailed deer, Canadian geese, chipmunks, squirrels. When I take our trash out at night I've seen skunks, raccoons, possums, and the occasional fox. I love getting to teach my kids about the ecosystem that we maintain within the immediate radius of our home, and its a privilege that I don't take lightly.
